3 Men Arrested Over Slashing Incident Outside Marquee Club; Victim’s Ear Allegedly Cut Off

The past weekend has been wild when we saw news of the double murder of a mother and a grandmother that happened at Commonwealth as well as a murder of a 63-year-old man at Ang Mo Kio.

We also saw illegal fireworks being set at Jurong and the Condo resident who was flamed for being rude to a security guard who was just doing his job.

But that’s not all that happened the past weekend. There was an alleged slashing incident near the area of Marina Bay Sands at 1 Bayfront Avenue. Police received a report around 6.16am on Sunday regarding the incident and three men between the ages of 22 and 24 were arrested for voluntarily causing harm by a dangerous weapon.

Three victims between the ages of 25 and 34 were injured and subsequently sent to Singapore General Hospital.

What is happening to Singapore?

What Happened?

Apparently, all six men were believed to have been at the Marquee nightclub before the attack.

According to local deejay Jade Rasif, one of the victims was a friend of hers and she posted a series of Instagram stories detailing what happened.

In one of her Instagram stories, she mentioned that one of the assailants was wearing a doctor’s costume and was wielding a real knife. He then, for reasons unknown, attacked her friend at the carpark.

He apparently also cut off another man’s ear.

That’s a true nightmare right there. Imagine going out for a night with your friends expecting to have fun and head home afterwards, only to get slashed and end up in the hospital.

In another Instagram story, she also mentioned that another guy was “slashed down to the bone”.

Aftermath

There hasn’t been much information from the police but police investigations are going on.

Through asking around and reviewing CCTV footage, authorities from the Central Police Division and Criminal Investigation Department were able to identify the three assailants and subsequently arrested them along Canberra Drive and Choa Chu Kang Street 51 on Monday and Tuesday.

They will be charged with voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon with common intention and if convicted, they will have to face a jail term of up to seven years and fined or caned.

Hopefully, the three men get what they deserve and the victims will recover soon.
