Eating at a restaurant can be pretty nice sometimes.
If you’re looking to impress your date, you might have brought him/her to a restaurant.
But how about a teacher? I mean, if you are meeting your teacher at a restaurant for a catch-up session after 10 years, it’s fine and there’s nothing wrong with that. But what if your teacher invited you to eat at a Japanese restaurant after a school outing?

That was exactly what happened between a 35-year-old male teacher and a 14-year-old female student.
Guess it’s not just university students who need to learn about respect and consent, huh?
Due to a gag order imposed by the court to protect the girl’s identity, the teacher cannot be named.
Before the IncidentÂ
Prior to this, the teacher and student had texted each other and had gone out together for a haircut and tea on two separate occasions before he asked her out for dinner at a restaurant after a school outing to a play.
She accepted the invitation.
The KissÂ
During dinner, she sat opposite him but after they finished, he asked her to sit next to him. Major red flags at this point.Â
The teacher then casually placed his right arm over her shoulder.
And guess what happens next.

That’s right. He leaned in and kissed her.
The girl, who was nervous and shocked at that time, just laughed it off as she did not know how to react.
How did the people around not notice that a grown man had just kissed a girl? On the lips some more.
Maybe the food was too good. Everyone was too focused on eating.
One Kiss Not Enough
The girl then told the teacher that she wanted to go home as it was late.

While walking up a flight of stairs, the teacher called out to her and kissed her again when she stopped and turned around.
After that last kiss, they parted ways and she took a bus home.
Caught
Feeling uncomfortable about what had happened with the male teacher, the girl told another teacher what happened and the police were alerted.
The male teacher pleaded guilty to committing an indecent act on a minor and admitted to sexually exploiting the girl. He was offered bail of $10,000 and is expected to be sentenced on 3 September 2019.
