Auntie Caught Opening Packed Kiwis to ‘Test’ in NTUC FairPrice; Got Called Out by Staff

While the rest of the world worries about the newly named novel coronavirus, aka the COVID-19, at least one auntie is keeping it real with her love for Kiwis.

The fight against the deadly virus rages on all over the world, with over 44,000 people infected and over 1110 fatalities.

Heck, even Singapore has been hard hit with 47 confirmed cases, of which seven victims are in critical condition.

But inside this NTUC FairPrice supermarket, only one thing matters: Kiwis.

It’s completely understandable because it takes a cultured individual to know how to choose a Kiwi fruit. This auntie certainly makes the cut:

Auntie Caught Opening Packed Kiwis to ‘Test’ in NTUC FairPrice; Got Called Out by Staff

A user by the name of YuXian Chen took to Facebook to share a video that they presumably took of an auntie busying herself at the Kiwi section of what is allegedly NTUC FairPrice.

She can be seen planting herself right smack in the middle of the Kiwi section while she closely examines a box of Kiwis which she places on a bunch of apples.

She then swiftly takes out each and every Kiwi in the box and feels them up real good, presumably to check if they are soft/hard enough to her liking.

Evidently, some were not to her satisfaction since she swaps out some of the lacklustre Kiwis in the box for others from another box.

An NTUC FairPrice staff is seen loitering behind her and talking to another customer, but that did nothing to faze her.

The staff did not seem to notice her questionable actions too.

It seems like just another day at the supermarket for the auntie i.e. ransacking the Kiwi section in search for the best Kiwis money can buy.

The video cuts off abruptly at the end and it’s unclear if she ended up buying the Kiwis, but because she put in so much effort to pick the perfect ones, let’s hope to god she did.

The auntie can also be seen donning a surgical mask for extra precaution, just in case, the Kiwi is infected with the COVID-19.

Netizens Shooketh

The video has garnered a whopping 2.5k Shares and as many as 330 comments from baffled netizens.

Many did not agree with the actions of the auntie and one even called her a “Kiasuporean”.

Another said that they would not want to patronise NTUC supermarkets if this indeed is where it happened.

Amidst the fight against the COVID-19, it’s so important to practice good personal hygiene and to be socially responsible.
