Okay, so the headline has said it all. What else do you want to know? Keela was the ultra suay person who skipped joyfully with her niece to Gelare at Tampines 1 for some much awaited waffles and ice cream... and whipped cream. And it turned out to be a horror story because she bite into something which she thought was "chocolate chip" but turned out to be a freaking screw. Image: stomp.straitstimes.com To add on to that, I don't know how a freaking screw can taste like "chocolate chip". She must have thought this to herself, "Why this chocolate chip so hard one?" Image: stomp.straitstimes.com Hmm, but anyhow, thank God she didn't swallow that freaking screw because she wouldn't have lived to tell the story of how she survived... what I call the Screw Apocalypse. And what's more, you wouldn't believe what the waiter replied to the freaking screw that was found. Anyone wants to make some wild guesses? Something like... "We ran out of chocolate chips so we thought one shiny screw would make a good substitute?" Image: i.imgur.com Or maybe "The screw grew legs and decided to make its way to have some waffles and ice cream?" No... that would have injected a little humor to this otherwise serious situation. But this was what he said: "I'm sorry ma'am but we have found the truth to this screw apocalypse. The screw came from the whipped cream bottle." So, the screw came off and they didn't bother to check it? Oh wells. I guess this is possible since they boh guan (don't care), and "invited" cockroaches to crash the outlet's party at Causeway Point just a few months back in July. And guess Gelare's reason when that happened back then? They said the Gelare cafe at Causeway Point was closed for "upgrade". Image: todayonline.com Oh well, the site is indeed under construction as their Facebook graphic has shown but it's not an "upgrade". In fact they were "ordered to close for two weeks" by the National Environment Agency (NEA). Or maybe they closed voluntarily to upgrade, and it's just a coincidence that NEA ordered them to close. Who knows? After all, that's how people strike 4D, isn't it? To give you a little background, the cafe has already violated the same offence (of failing to keep its premises free from cockroaches) TWICE over the past year, accumulating 12 demerit points in the process. Any food outlet that accumulates > 12 demerit points during a year long period may have their licence suspended for a period of either 2 to 4 weeks, or cancelled.
