Crash Landing On You may have ended its fairy-tale run months ago, but it seems that as far as fans are concerned…

The love for star-crossed lovers Ri Jeong-hyeok and Yoon Se-ri is far from over.

Just recently, a couple in the Philippines decided to convey their adoration for the drama in the most fangirlish/fanboyish style possible:

By recreating iconic scenes from the show and incorporating them into their own pre-wedding photoshoot and video.

Think you’re a hardcore CLOY fan? Well, they probably have you beat.

Couple Had Wedding Photos Inspired by Crash Landing on You; Even Colours of Clothes Were Similar

According to International Business Times (IBT), the couple picked at least 30 drama scenes, and recreated them to “give their love story a K-drama feel”.

And as the end result entails, they certainly achieved it.

From the location, to the costumes, to even the actions and expressions, the shots proved uncannily similar to the actual K-drama.

Though it probably helps that our groom and bride have the visuals to pull it off too.

Here, take a look at some of the more iconic shots to stem from the pre-wedding shoot!

And lest you’re still not convinced, here’s a couple of side-by-side comparisons to show just how faithful the pre-wedding shoot had been to the source material.

Seriously, if you were to tell me that it was a Philippines remake of the original show and not a pre-wedding shoot…

I would’ve believed you with all the wide-eyed innocence of a twelve-year-old child.

You can view their entire pre-wedding photo album here.

As for their pre-wedding video, let’s just say that it hits a little close to a CLOY fan’s heart.

You can view the 4:34 video clip here.

And lest you’re wondering, some of the places featured in the video are La Palmera Mountain Ridge in Sultan Kudarat, Wood Breeze Resort in General Santos City, Punta Isla Lake Resort and Sunrise Garden Lake Resort in South Cotabato.

Just in case. 🙂

Mirror Between Reality And Fiction

And to make things even more incredulous, the main leads in the pre-wedding shoot actually seem to share certain uncanny traits with the characters they’re portraying.

According to AsiaOne, the bride is a congresswoman and princess Bai Rihan Mangudadatu Sakaluran, while the groom is none other than police lieutenant Al Shadat Hassan Abdurajak.

Meanwhile, Yoon Se-ri is a rich heiress who’s also the founder of her own company Seri’s Choice, while Ri Jeong-hyeok serves as a captain in the North Korean army.

Well, the similarities are uncanny indeed.

Apparently, the couple had intended to get engaged on 28 June this year but was forced to cancel it due to Covid-19 restrictions.

They eventually got married on 3 September, though they had to reduce their initial list of 1,000 guests to 100.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, OutLoud Studios, which shot the couple’s pre-wedding video, shared that the CLOY theme materialised as the bride is a big fan of the drama and the groom just so happens to be a member of the police force.

This notion would certainly strike a chord with CLOY viewers, considering how Yoon Se-Ri is no stranger to the whole ‘Korean drama’ scene as well. And knowing Jeong-hyeok’s character, he would probably have been cool with a drama-themed wedding of his own too…

So long as Se-ri’s appeased.

It Seems That Wedding Shoots With A Korean Drama Theme Are Prevalent Nowadays

Earlier on, Malaysian singer Shila Amzah had released a Goblin-themed photo shoot with her then fiance’ Haris Idraki Elias.

For the record, it’s the one starring Gong Yoo and Kim Go Eun. Not this guy.

The couple had tried to recreate moments from the hit Korean drama with buckwheat flowers, as well as the iconic black gown with a cape.

It should be noted that Shila Amzah has also performed the OST,  “Beautiful Life”, on her official YouTube handle.

Joyful Occasion

Considering how a wedding takes place once in a lifetime (technically anyway), you really can’t blame these brides for wanting to fulfill their fangirl wishes on this special, special day. And really…

Who more appropriate to take on the lead role, than their own grooms?

And so, I can only wish the couples all the best in their married lives and hope that further down the road…

More couples will be encouraged to fulfil their biggest wishes on the biggest day of them all too. After all…
