Daniel Ong, former radio DJ turned restaurateur, is expecting another child in his family, a baby boy.
The 46-year-old married art teacher Fay Tan, 37, in 2020 and they have a one-year-old son called Andre.
Their family also includes his daughter Renee, 12, from his previous marriage to host-actress Jamie Teo, and Tan’s daughter Gretel, aged seven, from her previous marriage.
On Thursday (3 Nov), the owner of seafood restaurant Estuary and steakhouse chain Dan’s Steaks shared two photos of him and Ms Tan holding an ultrasound scan.
He wrote in the description, “Two girls, two boys. Now it’s a team sport. 3v3 here, we come.”
The first image shows the couple smiling at the camera, while the other shows Ms Tan lying comically on the ground, seemingly exhausted, while Mr Ong takes a celebratory selfie.
Furthermore, he talks about their initial response to the news, “So when we first found out, we were like. Really? So tired already.” He adds a laughing-crying emoji at the end.
Nevertheless, they are “stoked” about the news, stating that baby Andre now has a new playmate.
“Gotta make some changes, this old man better start getting fit and trying to earn diaper and milk money,” Ong continues to write. “I’m just realising when he’s 12, I will be 59. Holy cow. My late 40s are going to be shiong (tiring).”
The former radio DJ also jokes that all the pounds he has been putting on is the result of eating everyone’s food and dubs it the “daddy pregnancy mirroring”.
At the end of the post, he hopes that morning sickness his wife is experiencing can pass quickly and that the pregnancy will be smooth.
“Jiayou mummy,” Ong cheers his wife on, after stating that she has the support of the whole family behind her back.
