By now, you’re probably already aware of Dee Kosh’s comeback on social media.

He was previously sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment for attempting to procure obscene acts from underaged persons and for filming a sex act without the other party’s knowledge.

Following releasing a 51-minute video telling his side of the story, Dee Kosh recently sat down with The Daily Ketchup podcast and revealed more details about his life.

The podcast, uploaded on 4 May, is 1 hour and 17 minutes, which is nearly the length of a movie.

Thus, we’ve broken it down so you don’t have to sit through the whole video.

Unreleased Episode

Dee Kosh joined John, Denise and Jon Paul in an episode of The Daily Ketchup to talk about his experiences regarding the saga.

According to The Daily Ketchup, this isn’t the first time Dee Kosh has sat down with them.

The podcast had filmed an episode with Dee Kosh before he went to serve his sentence in 2022.

Dee Kosh had contacted the podcast through a mutual friend and asked to come on.

Initially, the podcast was going to release the video the moment he started serving his sentence.

However, the day before the initial video’s release, Dee Kosh requested that the video not be released, citing that he would do a “tell-all” when he got out of prison.

Dee Kosh had released a video onto YouTube before his sentence and was scolded by his lawyers as he was not allowed to talk about his case.

There’s even an official term for committing this act.

It’s called “sub judice”, which means attempting to interfere with the court by trying to sway the public’s opinion.

Dee Kosh noted that committing sub judice could lead to a new charge.

When was Dee Kosh Released?

Though he only resurfaced on social media in March, he was released from prison on 31 December 2022.

He had waited to return publicly to “respect the sentence”.

First Lawyer Dropped Him

In the unreleased episode of The Daily Ketchup, Dee Kosh was asked why his first lawyer dropped him but could not answer.

He is still unable to answer this question in the present.

Dee Kosh stated, “I still can’t. I checked. I guess you could say when I hired that first lawyer, they were under the notion that it was all fake news.”

He clarified that once he discovered the age of the people involved, he didn’t go on with the propositions for some of them.

He said, “I know there was one where I went up to two thousand dollars. It is what it is. I don’t know what to say.”

Cost of Legal Process

Dee Kosh mentioned that he spent about $15k or $16k on the entire legal process.

He noted that if he had decided to fight the case, the total cost would probably have shot up to $30k, $40k or $50k.

Dee Kosh said, “I didn’t take it to trial. I wanted to plead guilty because I knew I f*cked up.”

He also clarified that the boys involved in the case were an “anomaly” as the other people he slept with were not that young.

YouTube Termination

Dee Kosh has been terminated from YouTube, which explains why he had to upload his 51-minute video to Rumble instead.

During the investigation, he lost all his videos.

He also lost all the raw files at the police took his CPU.

If you weren’t aware, the termination of a YouTube account means you cannot open another account.

When asked if he created a new account to see what would happen, Dee Kosh replied, “I didn’t. Honestly, I’m so tired. I’m not going to create another one just to get beaten down again, so no thanks.”

Ran Away From Home

When the allegations first came out, Dee Kosh ran away from home.

He explained, “There were three folds to it. The first fold was that I’m not straight. The second fold was that they were saying I’m a paedophile. The third fold was they were saying I paid for it. There were three separate things to deal with.”

He ran away in the middle of the night and booked a hotel room for a week.

He was sure his family would find out about the allegations when they woke up and saw the news.

Dee Kosh recounted the day he called his family, remembering it was hectic as lawyers, friends, and PR people were asking for his statement.

He said, “I didn’t think I was going to make it go away because it was obviously not going to go away. But I thought I could have explained myself, at least to say why these things happened, who these people are, what was true and what wasn’t.

“But I didn’t get to do that because it was so difficult to explain what was going on, and at the same time, I couldn’t talk about it after because of the investigations.”

The Statement

Regarding his statement about the allegations, Dee Kosh clarified that he did not say everything wasn’t true.

He noted, “At that point, you must remember that I wasn’t just lying to my family. I was lying to my family, and I was lying to my friends.”

Though some of his friends had suspicions about his sexuality, they never had full confirmation.

He also noted how difficult it was for him to explain to the public.

Family was Supportive Throughout

Nevertheless, he was surprised by the support his family gave him.

He had expected them to kick him out of the house as they were conservative.

His father picked up when he called his family that day after running away from home.

He added, “I started crying and apologising… there was a lot of phlegm.”

His father told him to come home and said he needed his family.

Dee Kosh recounted another family conversation where he detailed the allegations and told them what to expect.

He noted, “Funnily enough, they didn’t come to me and ask if I was gay. They asked my gay friends instead.”

While he was in prison, these friends were there for his family and would even bring his parents out for meals.

“While I was in prison, my mom asked one of them, ‘Is my son gay?’

“He encouraged my mom to have that conversation with me.”

When asked if his family would be okay if he brought a man home now, Dee Kosh responded, “No, lol. We don’t play with fire. Also out of respect for them.”

Relationships with Other Influencers

During the saga, some influencers made statements against Dee Kosh’s actions.

While some had approached him first, others didn’t.

Dee Kosh mentioned that he is no longer in contact with these influencers, including Ben and Narelle Kheng.

He also said that they had yet to reach out to him.

However, he isn’t bitter anymore.

He said, “I might still hurt from what they did, but I’m no longer bitter about it.”

The “Pedo Test”

If you’ve watched Dee Kosh’s initial 51-minute video, you would know he underwent two “pedo tests”.

The results indicated he did not suffer from paedophilic disorder.

In the podcast, he gave more details as to what went down.

According to him, the first test, which was ordered by the prosecution, took place once per week for about one hour.

The psychiatrists conducting the test would ask detailed questions about the individual’s sex life.

Dee Kosh felt they were looking at how an individual answered the questions rather than their answers.

The psychiatrists also talked to his parents as part of the testing procedure.

The first test cost a hefty $5,000.

The second “pedo test” occurred at the Institute of Mental Health and lasted only four weeks.

He noted that it was worse to be labelled a paedophile as it would mean the individual’s reoffending rate is higher.

Preparations Before Jail

Dee Kosh felt that the week before going to jail was “very stressful”.

“You have your family to think about, your friends, your fish, your dog—my fish all died, by the way.”

The prosecution had asked for a sentence of five to eight months, while his lawyers asked for a sentence of two to four months.

Dee Kosh was shocked by his sentence as he thought the judge would give a sentence somewhere in the middle.

He explained that while his sentencing was at 8 am, people were only transported to Changi prison at 6 pm each day.

Thus, he stayed in the cells below the courts for the entire day.

He slept all the way and only reached the prison at night.

One-Week Isolation

Due to COVID-19, Dee Kosh had to spend one week in isolation.

He said it was his worst experience in prison as he didn’t have the one-hour yard time.

Furthermore, the rooms were not very clean since they were isolation rooms and constantly saw people moving in and out.

According to him, previous inmates had it worse as they had to be isolated for 21 days.

After the isolation period, he was moved to an eight-man cell.

In Dee Kosh’s case, he got to start a new cell.

On the one hand, it was a good thing because he could set his own rules. On the other hand, this meant he didn’t have anyone to teach him about the unspoken rules of prison.

He stayed in the eight-man cell for most of his sentence and was moved to a four-man cell in his final four weeks.

Met Titus Low

Dee Kosh said he met Titus Low briefly as they were in the same holding unit.

He explained that each holding unit had three-day rooms, with each day room holding 30 to 40 cells.

Every day, inmates would either have yard time or TV time.

When Low was imprisoned, Dee Kosh had just moved cells. He asked the officers to put Low in his original cell, where he was well cared for.

He noted that Low reads a lot.

Experience in Jail

Dee Kosh said that the prison officers were nicer than he expected.

He also noted that the food was “not bad”.

He explained that it was inmates cooking the food and it was unwise to sabotage the meals.

After all, these inmates would need to return to their cells at the end of the day.

Intentionally sabotaging meals would probably lead to violence.

He noted that violent incidents occurred weekly.

He recounted when someone got beaten up because he took another person’s banana.

Dee Kosh explained that while this may seem like a small matter to others, it was a big deal in prison as bananas were not provided daily.

Besides being a versatile food that can be eaten with anything, he noted that bananas also help with constipation, which could explain why the inmate was so upset.

When asked about his favourite book he managed to read in jail, Dee Kosh got visibly excited.

His favourite book was called The Whisper Man by Alex North.

He explained that friends and family could send in books for prisoners to read.

When asked what was the one thing he craved the most in jail, Dee Kosh cited music.

He was glad whenever the prison officers let them watch music videos during the last 15 minutes of their one-hour TV time.

Advice for Surviving Jail

Dee Kosh noted that counting down the days to release would make the sentence feel longer and advised against it.

He was advised to follow a routine to make time pass faster.

He added, “It just depends on how you roll with the punches.”

Notably, his sentence wasn’t the smoothest journey for him. He experienced numerous lows due to things happening outside and his inability to do anything about it.

He called it “the worst feeling in the world”.

He kept track of time passing via the date at the corner of the television screens outside his cell or by asking the officers.

In the days leading up to his release, he felt scared.

Though he would be free from jail, he was scared about the future and pondered hard on how he would make money.

He was also worried about his family and how he would live now with his sexuality being exposed.

Release and Adjustment

Dee Kosh said he was released at 8 am on 31 December 2022.

He described his first steps into society as “sensory overload”.

He added, “It was a bit much, not going to lie.”

His family and two friends came to pick him up.

Since he was released on New Year’s Eve, his friends and family were celebrating his release and the new year.

However, he noted that his senses were having difficulty adjusting.

He said that his sense of smell became almost supernatural during his time in jail, to the point that he could smell which officer was coming.

Since he had adjusted so well to prison life, he had a lot of difficulty adjusting back to the real world.

He noted that he had to sit on the floor when he first got home because the sofa felt “too soft”.

Furthermore, he had to request his friends and family to lower the music volume because it felt too “too loud”.

Comparison to Eden Ang

If you didn’t know, Eden Ang was a Singaporean actor and YouTuber that faced several sexual harassment allegations in 2018.

He has since become inactive on YouTube and Instagram.

Dee Kosh had called out Ang’s actions.

Thus, there have been scathing remarks regarding Dee Kosh’s hypocrisy.

He addressed these comments in the podcast.

He explained, “People said it’s hypocrisy, but to be a hypocrite, I would have needed to know I was doing something wrong, but at the time, I didn’t know what I was doing was wrong.”

Future Plans

Dee Kosh said though he doesn’t regret his pre-trial internet persona, he feels that his time in jail woke him up.

He explained that for most of his life, all he’s done was be in the spotlight, causing him to forget to be human.

He felt that his experience in jail allowed him to be human again.

He said he decided to return to social media because he “didn’t want to die a paedophile”.

He is still determining if he will do social media consistently and is unsure if he will return to the scene.

He noted that he does enjoy doing podcasts.

Currently, he’s helping a friend with his production house.

He declined to name the company and admitted that the money isn’t great.

However, he feels that it is crucial.

He didn’t name the company because he knows of the stigma surrounding his reputation.

He recounted the time he and his friend went open a bank account for the company under his name.

The application was rejected.

When his name was removed from the application, it was approved within 24 hours,

He said, “As much as we want to live in a world with no stigma, there’s always going to be the stigma.”
