Durian.
If you were born in Southeast Asia, you’re biologically obliged to enjoy eating the King of Fruits. Its thorny exterior belies its creamy, sweet, and luxuriant flesh that melts in the mouth like butter on a hot pan.
It’s the one thing a Singaporean can never say no to, besides bubble tea and temporary menu items at McDonald’s.
Though you might find it hard to believe, the hardworking cats here at Goody Feed have found something even better than durian. The good news for you is that this involves durian too. A lot of durian.
There’s a Durian Buffet With Premium Durians Like MSW Near Victoria Street
How much durian can you eat in one sitting?
If you’re too embarrassed to answer that question out loud, you could maybe show us instead at DurianBB’s durian buffet this year.
Called an “All You Can Eat Durian Party” the buffet was initially scheduled only for the coming weekend on 13 and 14 November. But in just 12 hours, all slots for those two days were sold out.
Is anyone surprised?
Fortunately for our mouths, DurianBB has organised two new sessions for 19, 20, and 21 Nov, but those are selling fast as well.
At the time of writing, slots for three of the available sessions have been sold out. Tickets are selling fast for the other sessions as well, with only a few left.
How Much?
Durian lovers will have two options to choose from at the All You Can Eat Durian Party.
Sessions for both options include a 30-minute introduction and tasting followed by an all-you-can-eat session that lasts 60 minutes.
Those who go for Option 1, which costs $38, will be offered three varieties of durian on their tasting platter, namely Mao Shan Wang, Tan Sri Xo, and Sweetie. As for the buffet session, only Sweetie and Tan Sri Xo will be available.
If you absolutely must have large quantities of MSW, then you might want to go for the second option which costs $58. This option has the same tasting platter as the first. The only difference is that you also have the MSW variety to gorge on during the buffet session.
According to their website, Dato Paul, DurianBB’s “Chief Durian Geek” and Founding President of the Durian Exporter Association of Malaysia, will host the event and share interesting facts about durian with diners, presumably during the introductory session.
Of course, only fully vaccinated people will be allowed entry, and all diners will have to wear masks. Social distancing rules will also be in place.
So, is your mouth ready? Head here to book a ticket now.
