For most of us, the only use of coffee cup lids is to keep the liquid inside warm and perhaps prevent flies from getting inside. However do you know that there are actually more amazing uses of coffee cup lids than we know?
If you’re guilty of throwing your Starbucks take-away cup (and we’re sure most of you are), it’s time to keep the lids somewhere instead. You’ll be blown away by the amount of uses these lids that you throw away on almost a daily basis can do.
Coasters
We’ll start simple. Do you know that these coffee cup lids can be used as coasters? Simply overturn the lids and it will make a perfect coaster for your drink to sit on. The concave sides will help to trap any spillage.
Protective cover
Also, if you’re currently moving house, these lids will come in super handy for you. Instead of dragging your furniture across the hardwood floors and risking damaging the floor, place this lids under the furniture legs. The lids will allow even heavy pieces of furniture to slide across the floors or carpets without scratching them.
Storage
And if you want to go all out, use these lids to store small jewelries such as earrings, rings and necklaces. However, you might want to go for a cute rubber coffee lid that can be found on tumblers and mugs. They make great storage space and you got to admit, it is sort of cute.
Food dish
For those with small pets at home like hamsters, these coffee cup lids are also great in acting as food dishes for your pets. So instead of buying a bowl, simply use these lids. They work just as well, and the best part is that they are free. So it’s a total win-win situation!
Ice cream catcher
Lastly, to all our ice cream lovers, yes, these lids are for you too! Cut a small slit in the middle of the lids, and slide them over your ice cream sticks to catch every drip that drops as your ice cream melts. How awesome is that? You’ll never have to worry about making a mess, and this is especially great if you have friends over and you don’t want them dripping their ice cream all over the place. Well, just make them all buy Starbucks. It’ll save you a ton of trouble after.
So now that you know all these, will you still throw away those coffee cup lids? Or are you seeing them in a whole new light – because we definitely are!
