Lest you’re unaware, cheating has been a pretty prevalent notion in recent times.
Ian Fang and Carrie Wong (this, however, is unconfirmed).
My neighbour Ah Kow and his pet dog Sayang.
And just to clarify; those are just a few of the more high-profile cases. Every day, every minute, dozens of cheating cases transpire around the world.
Wondrous stuff.
But just when you thought that you earned a hard-earned break from the whole notion of ‘cheating’, guess what?
Here we go again.
Everything About The Cheating Scandal Involving TV Hosts Ah Xiang & Cheryl Hsieh
Actor and TV Host Aaron Chen, also known as Ah Xiang, has been married to former model Grace Kung for eight years.
And throughout those eight years, they’ve shared multiple happy times, including the birth of two daughters and one son.
But like all ill-fated fairytales, it might be all set to end.
On 12 June, photos of Golden Bell Award-winning hosts Ah Xiang and Cheryl Hsieh kissing in public began circulating in public, and Taiwan showbiz was subsequently shocked beyond belief. Small wonder, considering how Cheryl Hsieh’s hardly Grace Kung.
Like both literally and figuratively.
But here’s the thing. While most would’ve expected Grace Kung to be in the dark about it, and only learning of the ugly truth when the photos surfaced, it seems that the former model might’ve known about it for quite a while.
As far as early May, in fact.
On 2 May, she had actually posted a picture of a pair of sneakers and compared the notion of comfortable shoes… to a suitable spouse.
“Have the courage to get rid of shoes that do not fit, cause blisters and pain, and hurt you,” Grace wrote, accompanied by a hashtag, “Never be hard on yourself.”
A cryptic message at its best, and it seems that Netizens were aware of it too, flocking back to the post once news broke out on 12 June.
It has to be mentioned too that Grace actually cancelled a public event after the news came out, perhaps due to a fear that the scandal would overshadow the event.
She, however, has not addressed the scandal directly.
Broke down
On the other hand, Ah Xiang has since stepped out to offer a somewhat half-assed apology, in which he implied that the physical intimacy he shared with Cheryl in the circulating photos, was but a result of their close friendship.
According to Apple Daily Taiwan, however, the member of music and comedy act Plungon couldn’t contain his emotions on his way home after work, and he was reportedly spotted crying in his car.
According to reports, he’s now struggling to avoid a divorce. The couple has two daughters, as well as a son.
Boundaries that should not be crossed
Cheryl Hsieh, the third party in this particular equation, has also stepped forth with a statement of her own.
Issuing a public apology on Facebook, the TV host admitted that she had “allowed their friendship to change”, and “crossed boundaries that should not be crossed”.
According to AsiaOne, she added that she accepts all the criticism directed at her, and has promised to reflect on her actions.
She has reportedly halted all work projects and been instructed by her company to avoid Ah Xiang.
And with that in mind, I shall end off this article with my best wishes for all parties involved…
And I hope that they will reach a best-case conclusion that will salvage each individual’s happiness, as well as the future of the innocent children involved in this struggle.
