Believe it or not, the level of biodiversity in Singapore is actually pretty high.
Well, I do understand why some of you doubt my words. The last time I tried to talk to someone about Singapore’s biodiversity, the fella actually said:
“Simi biodiversity. I thought Singapore only got Mynah, sparrows, and crows.”
(You serious ah, bro)
For some reason, he did not include stray dogs and cats. Maybe he has never seen them before? Eh, who knows.
Anyway, for those of you who are actually interested in finding out more, here’s a link to National Parks’ website.
Before I go completely off topic, let’s talk about whatever I’m supposed to talk about today.
When it comes to the slightly more “exotic” wildlife in Singapore, most Singaporeans tend to overreact. I’m talking about sightings of Pythons, Monitor Lizards, and crocodiles, to name a few.
And then, there’s a particular animal which always makes it to the news for the wrong reasons.
Meet the wild boars.
Famous for attacking pedestrians and barging into your basha on Tekong, they have a reputation for being public nuisances.
Recently, on 7 Dec, a family of wild boars was sighted at Pasir Ris Heights, near the campus of United World College South East Asia (UWCSEA).
Stomper Hamdi uploaded a video showing approximately 12 boars on a grass patch by the road.
Check out the video at this link here.
(D’aww, aren’t they adorable)
It is indeed uncommon to see an entire family of wild boars roaming around Mainland Singapore like this.
That being said, please do not disturb them (I’m looking at you Pasir Ris people!). The last thing I want to see is the wild boars injuring someone.
As long as you don’t provoke them, they’ll most likely leave you alone.
Oh and, I don’t really care if you get injured or not. Just please don’t give our dear AVA a reason to cull the boars.
I swear I’ll write an article about the idiot that provokes the boars if that happens. My choice of words about that person definitely won’t be pretty (As always)!
Since you’re here, why not watch a video about an NTU student who went all out to impress his crush, only to end up in…tragedy? Here, watch it and do remember to share it (and also subscribe to Goody Feed YouTube channel)!
