As you can tell from recent happenings, the roads in Singapore can be pretty dangerous.

On 4 Aug 2020, a 29-year-old GrabFood rider got into a severe accident at the junction of Sengkang West Way and Jalan Kayu.

He was riding his Power-Assisted Bicycle (PAB) on the road when he got into an accident with a car.

Images of the aftermath show a PAB in the middle of the road and a Grab food delivery bag nearby.

According to the Straits Times, the police were alerted to the incident at about 9.35pm.

The food delivery rider was taken to the hospital in an unconscious state.

Meanwhile, police investigations are ongoing.

A Whole Host Of Injuries

According to a STOMPer who claims to be his friend, the food delivery rider is now in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The delivery rider was seriously injured in the accident, the friend said, and has “a burst spleen, two punctured lungs, a broken ribcage, a fractured shoulder, one broken leg and a blood clot in the brain”.

The rider also allegedly had an operation last night to check for “further internal bleeding or injuries”.

Grab said that they are in touch with his family to offer their assistance.

Appealing For Witnesses

Not much is known about the accident but many people across Singapore are praying for the delivery rider’s safe recovery:

Meanwhile, a Mr Low also shared the STOMP article on his post and asks for anyone with information to come forward.

Note: that doesn’t mean you should post it on Facebook, just give it to the police instead. Trust me, it’ll be more helpful for the incident.

We hope that the delivery rider will have a safe and speedy recovery.

We would also like to remind netizens that while police investigations are ongoing, it’s not good to speculate especially since most of the details are still unknown.
