Here’s a true story: once, when I was on my way to JB via SBS 170, a public bus to JB, I got a shock when I reached the JB checkpoint: the entire hall was completely filled with people.
There was no queue because I couldn’t even squeeze into the hall. I was stuck in the hall for more than three hours—and because of that, tempers flare as you can almost hear people quarrelling every few minutes.
With Google Maps and also several other websites, we could easily see whether there’s a traffic jam at the causeway.
To some of us, a jam means that we’ll just forgo the supper in JB and have it in Woodlands instead—but how about a human jam?
So if you think that taking the bus to JB means you’ll only be stuck in the traffic jam, think again: the human jam is rowdier, slower and way hotter. But in comes the lifesaver, the Facebook Group 新柔关卡路况情报站.
Started by Singaporeans and Malaysians, when there’s an overflowing crowd of people at the customs, we could see it before making our way there.
For example, the image above was posted on last Sunday evening—that meant if you intend to take the bus to JB, you’ll better be prepared to wait for hours.
Of course, you can do your part by joining the group and giving others a heads-up when there’re just too many people. You’re welcome!
