I‘m pretty sure some of you guys have friends like this.
Like, one fine day, you’re scrolling through Facebook and you see some lengthy post made by a Facebook “friend” (I hope you don’t actually know this person IRL).
You then decided to scroll past the wall of text, saving your eyes from any cringe worthy content. At that moment, you saw it.
This fella just liked his own post. To make matters worse, there’s only one single like.
Yeah, you know how this feels.
So now, we have a local celeb who might have just elevated this self-liking game to a whole new level.
Allegedly.
Yeap, him.
Lee Teng is no stranger to fans of Mediacorp TV shows. In fact, he has made it to the top 10 Mediacorp male artiste list a total of 5 times.
With life seemingly so good for him right now, what could possibly go wrong?
Well, so it appears that Lee Teng’s business partner, Lim Chit Foo, has been allegedly accused of cheating government subsidies amount to $13.6 million (via the PIC grant). At the time of the incident, Lee Teng was the director of said company. If that wasn’t enough, Lee Teng’s reputation was further damaged when Lim’s lawyer questioned his integrity in court.
Apparently, Lee Teng had asked his friend to design a software which will enable Lee Teng to vote for himself repeatedly.
(Yeah, let that sink in)
If that’s true, this is really some high level self-liking game sia.
Anyway, as you let the information sink in, let this be a lesson to us: a business with a partner usually doesn’t end up well. Usually.
In response, Lee Teng had denied all allegations, claiming that it was Lim who said that he will go online to vote for Lee Teng. Besides, Lee Teng also said that what he did to gain votes wasn’t fraud, but part of the voting process.
(Okay, let that sink in too)
Yeah, by now you might be flaring up and complaining about how this is totally unfair. (Maybe because your favorite artiste didn’t win or something?)
But hey, it’s all accusations from one man to the other. Who knows who’s telling the truth and who’s not?
It’s a “he said, she said” situation now, and Lee Teng has this to say: “Those are all false. I feel quite helpless at some media reports that are based on the defense lawyer’s allegations. But it’s inconvenient for me to say anything, as the trial hasn’t ended. I can only wait till there’s a verdict before commenting on what was said.”
The trial is still ongoing.
