If you’ve been following us over the last few days, you’ll notice a whole bunch of things getting mala-fied.
And Long John Silver’s knows this too, because this Chinese New Year, they’re going to be mala-fying some of their items.
Even Long John Silver’s Has Mala Meals for CNY
A little heat goes a long way with fried food, though mala is more than just a little.
On 13 Jan, Long John Silver’s unveiled a spicier take on some of their menu items.
The best part? Each of these cost around S$10.90 or less.
- Mala Salmon and Dory – $10.90
- Mala Salmon and Chicken – $9.90
- Mala 3PC Chicken – $8.50
All items come with the spicy batter topped with mala sauce, cayenne peppers and parsley.
Each set is also served with fries and regular SJORA Mango, and are only available after breakfast hours (past 11.00am).
And remember, these items are only available for a limited time so don’t wait too long. While there’s no exact date yet, it’s safe to say these will likely go away when the season ends.
Speaking of which, remember how we mentioned how mala is getting put on everything?
No Brakes On Mala Craze
A whole bunch of big names have been on the trend as well.
Pizza Hut has a whole slew of new mala-related items, ranging from pizzas, chicken wings and fries.
Thankfully not their drinks or cheesecakes.
IKEA has, surprisingly, not done this to their meatballs. They are doing it for their equally famous chicken wings as well as a mala chicken leg with spaghetti.
And while not mala, we can’t bring up a conversation about spicy chicken without KFC, bringing back their fried chicken skins along with a spicy variant.
We’ve even tried McDonald’s new mala shaker fries and it might be one of the best fries yet. You can check out the review over here.
This CNY is indeed pretty mala.
