While we all know that we should stay alert while we’re driving on the road, sometimes some incidents happen just to remind us of why exactly we should do so.

And sometimes, these incidents are… unfortunate, to say the least.

On 21 April, Facebook user Bernard Pang uploaded the following video to his Facebook page.

Yes, those are cows.

In the 45-second clip that was taken by a car’s dashboard camera, the car is seen to be driving smoothly along a mostly deserted road while the male driver speaks in the background.

All seems well until approximately 18 seconds into the video, when a large herd of cows suddenly comes into view.

Unable to stop his car in time, the driver rams right into the cows and exclaims in horror and fear. The rest of the video is blurred, possibly due to how the cow’s body is covering the camera.

Pang also wrote in his caption, “Do be extra careful while driving at night on the Malaysia highway..you never know what you will encounter…”

Clearly, there’s a very good reason to be careful now.

At the bottom of the video, it can also be seen that the driver was travelling at around 137km/h, and it goes without saying that he should probably have been driving at a slower pace.

Netizens’ Reactions

Within less than a week of posting the video, it has attracted over 84,000 views on Facebook and many shocked reactions from netizens, given how fast the collision occurred.

Many Facebook users tagged their friends in the comments section, probably to share the video with their peers.

One commenter also wrote, “Dont drive too fast at night open your highbeam when unlit highways or small roads”.

The post has since garnered over 270 reactions on Facebook as well, with many of the reactions being the “Wow” and “Sad” reactions.

And if there’s anything that this incident has taught us, it was wrapped up pretty nicely by a few netizens in the comments section:
