Man’s $18.80 Fast-Food Meal Looks Pathetic With Just 3 Small Chicken Pieces

We Singaporeans love our food.

Some of us love food so much that we get hangry (angry due to hunger) if we wait too long to eat.

A few days ago, this man ordered his lunch via delivery.

Most of us are familiar with the anticipation of waiting for our food to arrive. However, the man’s excitement quickly turned to disappointment the moment he opened the packaging of his $18.80 combo meal.

Inside were three small, pathetic pieces of chicken.

Man Ordered Boneless Chicken Combo

In a TikTok video that user @riizzaan uploaded on 29 December 2022, he ordered the Boneless Chicken Combo from the American fast food chain Fatburger.

He wanted to try this combo meal out as it had the “popular” label on the Deliveroo app.

He chose to buy the three-piece combo for $13.80 and topped up $5 for a milkshake.

The receipt accurately reflected his order, which included the three-piece boneless chicken combo with ranch sauce, skinny fries and a cookies & ice cream milkshake.

His order totalled $18.80.

He even commented on the auspicious nature of his order number #8000.

Disappointed at Chicken Size

However, when Riizaan opened the packaging of his order, he was disappointed.

He had a bone to pick with the size of the boneless chicken pieces.

In a slew of vulgarities, he ranted about the size of the sad chicken pieces.

Though he acknowledged that his meal came with fries and a milkshake, he was still upset by the tiny pieces of chicken.

In his caption, he wrote, “RIP to the chicken that died for this pathetic meal.”

Netizens’ Response

Some found the size of the chicken pieces hilarious and got a good laugh out of Riizaan’s rant.

Some netizens even pointed out that the milkshake’s size was not something to boast about either.

Many also joked about the three limp carrots accompanying the boneless chicken.

Others pointed out that he could have gotten so much more for the price at other fast food chains such as Mcdonald’s.

Restaurant Invites OP for a Meal

The story didn’t end there.

On 31 December 2022, Riizaan posted a follow-up video on the situation.

@riizaan Replying to @Splishsplash UPDATE! Should I do a honest review on their new menu? #FatBurger #tiktoksg #fyp #sg ♬ original sound – Riizaan

The restaurant had reached out to him and invited him for a meal.

Deelish Brands, the group that operates Fatburger, also commented on his original video.

In response to the invite, Riizaan told the restaurant that he would only accept the invitation if he could have the same menu but improved.

However, the restaurant told him that they were discontinuing the menu item and coming up with a newer, better product next week.

Riizaan stated that he would keep his viewers updated.

In his caption, he also asked if he should do an honest review of the new menu.

Small Chicken Pieces due to Supplier Error

According to AsiaOne, a Fatburger spokesperson said a supplier error resulted in smaller chicken pieces.

There have been similar incidents regarding other fast food chains where customers were dissatisfied with the size of their chicken.

In September 2022, a KFC customer complained about the size of the fried chicken in her three-piece chicken meal, calling it a “tiny shorty drumlet” on STOMP.

Back in June 2022, a STOMP contributor was displeased with the size of the chicken she was served at Nene Chicken, stating that “the chickens haven’t grown up yet” while comparing the chicken piece’s size to a packet of wet wipes.

Though Riizaan’s tiny chicken pieces could genuinely have resulted from a supplier error, it is undeniable that his meal definitely did not look like the photo shown in the Deliveroo app.

Just take a look at this comparison photo:

At least his viewers got a good laugh out of his misery.
