There’s a reason why e-scooters aren’t allowed on the road.
Apart from the glaring fact that it’s dangerous for you, there’s also another aspect:
It’s dangerous for others too.
Just take a look at all the previous e-scooter incidents in Singapore. They aren’t exactly for show, you know.
However, intelligent and praiseworthy e-scooter riders are still taking to the road every single day, heedless of the cases that should have not only served as a reminder, but motivation for them to get the **** outta the road.
And look; there’s yet another incident of a man taking to the road with his e-scooter like he’s Tarzan.
The only difference? This dude kena LTA officers.
Good for him, I say.
And even better for the rest of the road users.
What happened?
Just yesterday (8 Dec), Facebook page Medic Bikerz Singapura posted a video on their social media site.
Riding escooter on the road is not only can cause danger to yourself and other road users…it's also an offence under LTA rules and regulations. So when someone told you or give you a warning…that's means there's a DANGER ride behind you Mr Foreign Talent.

At the 2:00 mark, the motorcyclist chances upon an e-scooter rider on the road.
He starts slowing down, and calls to the rider:
“Excuse me, you’re not supposed to be on the road.”
When the e-scooter rider didn’t reply (he was out of frame then), the motorcyclist reiterated his words in a more forceful tone.
“You’re not supposed to be on the road!”
All the rider gave, however, was this look.
When the rider sped up and left, the motorcyclist pointed at him and said again, “You’re not supposed to be on the road!”
The motorcyclist then gets his engine roaring again, and this is when he came across these guys.
They were none other than LTA officers.
“I advise him; he don’t want to listen,” the motorcyclist told one of them.
A bit further down the road, he came across this situation.
Well, I guess the rider did have it coming.
Anyways, guys, listen.
If you’re committing the same offence as the e-scooter dude in the video…
Don’t continue your ways.
And I’m not even trying to be your mum here.
I’m just trying to get you to do the right thing.
Because trust me; there’s no feeling in the world that’s worse than hurting someone and being aware that it’s a preventable thing.
And you don’t want to go through that.
Ever.
