We’ve already rejoiced at the announcement of more relaxed measures that will commence in the last week of March.
But the good news doesn’t stop there.
To celebrate NS55, those who served the nation as operationally ready national servicemen (NSmen) will be given $100 worth of digital credits and a free one-year Safra or HomeTeamNS membership.
Formation of NS55 Recognition Package
The digital credits and free membership are given to “recognise (NSmen) for their contributions”, according to the Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Zaqy Mohamad.

As part of the NS55 campaign, the NS55 Recognition Package will be rolled out from mid-June 2022 onwards where eligible NSmen will receive a notification letter informing them on how to claim their packages.
According to The Straits Times, eligibility for the NS55 Recognition Package will be based on their NS status as of May this year.
Mr Zaqy Mohamad also announced that past and present NSmen will receive the NS55 Recognition Package as a token of appreciation for their contributions to Singapore’s defence and security.
Details on NS55 Recognition Package
The $100 worth of digital credits will be distributed via the LifeSG mobile application, so those who have yet to install it, please do to claim your share.
The digital credits will be valid for one year after they have been issued. These credits can be used for spending at online and physical merchants that accept payment via PayNow or NETS QR codes.
Basically, NSmen can spend on food and e-commerce platforms to government agencies and education institutes that support these payment formats.
The complimentary SAFRA or HomeTeamNS principal membership will also be given provided that the NSmen sign up by 31 December this year.
Part of NS55 Campaign – “Generations of Strength”
The NS55 Recognition Package is just one of the many campaigns rolled out to celebrate NS55.
The celebrations are held to pay tribute to our national servicemen who have contributed to the defence and security of Singapore. Other events include an NS55 Showcase which will happen in conjunction with the Army Open House happening in May 2022 and at several heartland locations in June 2022.
Aside from the Showcase, a NS55 interactive trail consisting of several discovery points that are significant to NS will also be held.
