On 大年初一, 2 Men Broke into a Shop & Stole 2 Birds in Bukit Merah

Firstly, LRT broke down on the first day of Chinese New Year in Sengkang, and people had to walk on the track.

Now, it’s reported that two men were arrested on the first day of Chinese New Year as well…for stealing birds.

According to Today Online, two men, aged 27 and 28, were arrested yesterday (16 February 2018) for breaking into a bird food and supplies shop. Given that it’s the first day of Chinese New Year, it should then be closed for business.

The duo eventually took off with two birds instead. At 8:50 a.m. then, the police received a call about the break-in, which happened at Block 124 Bukit Merah Lane.

The stolen birds in totality were worth $400.

(Yeah, I also weren’t aware that birds are that expensive)

In line with our police’s efficiency, the duo were caught after eleven hours. To establish the identities of the suspects, the officers from Clementi Police Division used footages from police cameras and extensive ground enquiries.

Police investigations are still ongoing.

In the last few days, the police has been praised for their creative outreach campaigns in social media, with memes like this…

And of course, not to mention the videos we did with them:

Well, all we can say is that our unsung heroes are getting more recognition, and more creative, nowadays.
