Mother of Boy Who Rushed onto Road & Nearly Got Knocked Down Explained His Actions

On 9 Aug 2020, many events happened.

There was an old man who almost caused an entire mobile column to come to a screeching halt

And a Foodpanda rider who tagged along behind a mobile column for 10 minutes or so

Turns out, on the night of 9 Aug, a dangerous situation happened on the roads of Pasir Ris.

Child Dashed Out Onto The Road At Night

On 10 Aug, Facebook Page All Singapore Stuff uploaded a dashcam video onto the social media platform.

It shows a car driving along Pasir Ris Drive 1 at 10.24pm on 9 Aug when a child wearing pink suddenly dashed onto the road.

The car slowed down and the child was seen running towards the left before veering into the middle of the lane again.

Then, a man ran past the car and scooped the boy away from danger.

Naturally, netizens were incensed.

What were the parents doing, allowing their child to be put into such a dangerous situation?

Were they on the phone?

Well, turns out, there might be an explanation for it.

A woman who claims to be the child’s mother took to Facebook to explain the situation.

According to her, her son is a special child with special needs.

During the time of the incident, she had a handyman at her home to complete some work and left the door open.

That was when the boy ran off.

She allegedly ran out of her home without footwear to search for her boy but he had ran in another direction towards the road.

The handyman also ran out to help search for the boy.

When the lady ran in another direction, she saw her son, the handyman and a Malay couple near to her home.

Appealing For Couple To Come Forward

The lady is appreciative towards the couple for helping to bring her son back.

She appealed for the couple to come forward in her post, seemingly wanting to reward them for their good deed.

They had allegedly come across the boy during his brief jaunt along Pasir Ris Drive 1 and dashed down the road to get him out of danger.
