In Goody Feed, there are two people who stand out among the rest of us.
(FYI, one of them is going to edit this article, but that’s not going to stop me)
These two colleagues have a burning passion for insects.
No, they don’t keep them. But instead, they eat them.
Or should I say, they savour them.
Urgh, that gave me the chills.
If you think that’s the extreme of having nothing-to-do, then you should know that whatever I’m gonna say is even worse.
In Germany, the land of beer and sausages, there’s one guy who really got too “bored”.
41-year-old Niels Högel is now serving a life term for killing six hospital patients with lethal drug.
The case has been labelled “unique in the history of the German Republic”.
He said that he did it out of “boredom”, feeling euphoric when he managed to bring a patient back to life, according to The Straits Times.
I have no replies to that.
But no, he didn’t stop there.
The male nurse will be charged with 97 more murders in his third trial later this year.
That’s 103 murders in total, just saying.
Why he did it
Högel says that he inject patients with drugs that will lead to heart failure or circulatory collapse.
He will then try to save them and feel good about it before his colleagues when he succeeds.
Technically, he was named as a “lifesaver” for his attempt at murdering.
How ironic.
More deaths
Högel was found guilty of six murders in two earlier trials, but investigators have proceeded with toxicology tests on hundreds more exhumed bodies.
Oldenburg prosecutors said toxicology tests did not find conclusive proof in three more cases, aside from the 97 new ones.
Among the newly discovered cases, 62 patients died in a hospital and 35 in a clinic.
How he was caught
In 2005, a female nurse saw Hoegel attempting to inject a patient .
Thankfully, the patient survived and Hoegel was handed over to the police.
In 2008, he was sentenced to seven and a half years in jail for several cases of attempted murder.
After seeing the news, a woman then reached out to the police, as she suspects that her deceased mother was also a victim.
While in jail, Hoegel told fellow inmates and later on a psychiatrist, that he had committed more murders.
Well done.
In 2015, he was jailed for life. It was clear that he had murdered many more patients, but investigators said that they will never be certain of the number as some remains have been cremated.
Since you’re here, why not watch a video about a guy who lodged a Police report here in Singapore because he was friendzoned? Seriously. Here, watch it and do remember to share it (and also subscribe to Goody Feed YouTube channel)!
