Local actress, Sharon Au needs no introduction as she has graced our television screens circa 1995.
With that said, the 42-year-old beauty will be leaving Mediacorp on 1 Feb 2018, Channel NewsAsia reported.
Dedicating 22 years of her life to mediacorp—10 years as an artiste, five years studying under a company scholarship and the last seven years in fashion and online portal managements (including her role as a publisher for ELLE Singapore and the lead of styleXstyle.com), she is embarking on a different career path.
She said to Channel NewsAsia, “I look forward to exploring new opportunities in France where I had spent a year studying.”
And for those who are wondering what she will be doing in France—you’re not alone.
In a media statement, she mentioned that it was a “hard decision” for her to make.
She also added that her resignation will mark her departure from “the world of entertainment and fashion” and she will be pursuing another path.
So for now, we have no clue on what she will be pursuing next.
Mediacorp expressed their good wishes in a statement: “She has demonstrated her talent, passion and genuine curiosity in diverse areas of the business. We’re sure she will continue to do well and surprise and delight those around her. Sharon has all our very best wishes as she embarks on new adventures.”
She also posted a farewell post on her Instagram and the caption read: “1995 to 2018. 22 years. Thank you #Mediacorp. I’m eternally grateful. #AUrevoir #sharonAUrevoir #sharonAU”
Goody Feed wishes her all the best in her future endeavours as well!
