In August last year, Malaysia’s music scene was rocked by the news that singer Siti Sarah Raisuddin had passed away.

She had been infected with COVID-19 at the time, and died from complications.

While some fans are still in mourning, one person in her family seems to already be thinking of the future, and a possible replacement.

Unfortunately, this was recorded on video, and uploaded to social media for the world to hear.

Mother-in-Law of Late M’sia Singer Slammed for Talking About New Wife for Her Son

It all started with a video posted on the late singer’s Instagram account last year, on 30 Dec.

Siti Sarah’s mother-in-law, Salamiah Jalani, can be seen speaking to her grandchildren and Siti Sarah’s stepmother, Siti Fatimah, who recorded the video.

Siti Fatimah says that Talita (Siti Sarah’s daughter) is asking for a younger sister, and Salaimah replies: “You’re asking your Daddy to remarry? You want a stepmom?”

When Talita says yes, Salaimah says that a woman has to have certain traits before she can wed her son, such as knowing how to cook because her son is a “big eater”.

“Last time your late mom had to cook at 2 to 3am. Would anyone be willing to do that?” she said.

Perhaps as a joke, Siti Fatimah says that the new woman would also have to put up with Salaimah as a mother-in-law, but she responds: “I’m not that bad to put up with… To take care of your husband’s heart is through his stomach. That’s all I ask.”

Some netizens felt that it was too soon to be talking about another wife, given how it’s been just five months since Siti Sarah’s passing.

Others found it odd and even disrespectful to post such a video on Siti Sarah’s Instagram page.

Was Pregnant Before Her Death; Unvaccinated Against COVID-19

It was revealed that just four days before her demise last year, the Malaysian entertainer had been pregnant with her fourth child.

On 6 August 2021, Siti underwent a three-hour surgery to save her son. The boy was subsequently given the name Ayash Affan.

Sadly, Siti Sarah was unable to hold her son before her death.

In an Instagram post, her husband, who goes by the moniker Shuib Sepahtu, wrote, “My heavenly angel has gone forever. I ask you to please give your Al-Fatihah.”

Her husband later came out and said that Siti had not been vaccinated against COVID-19, and that she received treatment too late.

When they finally brought her to a private hospital, they were told that there were no beds left for COVID-19 patients.

“I wanted to take my wife to a private hospital, but they were full. Then it occurred to me that no amount of money could save my wife. This is what happened,” he said.

Since she was not vaccinated, the virus had spread to her lungs, and most of her organs could not function properly.
