I have been bombarded with a deluge of marriage posts on Facebook, which has got me thinking about my non-existent love life.
When will I find my soulmate?
Do soulmates even exist?
Is a soulmate a social construct created by society and wedding planners?
Just when things were starting to look bleak for me, I came across Tony Fernandes’ wedding pictures.
And a ray of hope shined on me, brighter than a 10-foot tall beacon.
For those who are wondering what I am blabbering about, proceed to read.
1) Tony Fernandes
If you have no inkling of who this Tony Fernandes is, — no he is not a soccer player —let me give a short introduction about him, you hikikomori.
Tan Sri Tony Fernandes is 53 years old, and he is a business mogul. He founded Tune Media, a leisure and entertainment conglomerate.
One of the more famous brands under the company is Air Asia, and he is the chief executive to boot.
At 53, with such an impressive resume, I assumed he was already married with kids.
Guess I was wrong.
There were pictures of him with a graceful-looking Asian circulating around social media.
So many questions right?
Who is she?
What is she wearing?
Where was it?
Don’t fret; I have the answer….

2) When
According to Malay Mail Online, Tony Fernandes and his girlfriend got married last Saturday.
And if you’re curious to know what his wife looks like, I’ll save you the trouble from searching “Tony Fernandes wife” on Google.
3) Where
Malay Mail Online was informed that the wedding took place in France.
NO, not at the Eiffel Tower or Disneyland.
It was at Cap Estel, a luxury hotel in Cote de Azure aka The French Riviera.
Just look at the location — so picturesque and romantic!
4) Who is the mysterious woman?
Hailing from South Korea, Tony Fernandes’ wife goes by the name of Chloe (news media can’t even find her last name).
Her age is a real mystery too. According to The Sun Daily, she is in her 20s, whereas The Star mentioned that she is in her 30s. One thing is for sure though: she definitely looks young!
5) A Korean movie star
The Star reported that she is an actress.
No lah, not her.
Any K-drama fanatics willing to identify her?
6) The love story
They dated for two years before deciding to tie the knot. Is that fast or slow?
7) The wedding
The wedding was an intimate affair with an attendance of 150 people, including family members, close friends, Air Asia’s top officials, former international trade industry minister of Malaysia, Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz and former deputy prime minister of Malaysia, Tun Musa Hitam.
8) The best man
The wedding might be small, but it is filled with important people. And to top it off, according to Channel News Asia, his best man is the brother of Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, Datuk Seri Nazri Razak.
9) The wedding dress
Most women would have already pinpointed their wedding dress even before their first boyfriend.
For those who need some inspiration, maybe Tony Fernandes’ wife’s outfit can help you out.
She wore an off-shoulder white gown with a sweep train — nothing too fancy. I guess if your wedding is extravagant, your wedding dress should be simple.
10) Can’t go wrong with a wedding suit
For the groom, it’s easy. We don’t have to think about how long we want our wedding gown to be, or what kind of neckline suits us best.
We would just simply don a suit and voila, we end up looking all ready to crash Jay Gatsby’s wedding.
Tony Fernandes wore a three-piece suit and had a boutonniere that matched his wife’s bouquet — white roses.
Anyway, this goes to show that it is never too late to find love. Maybe I have hope after all.
I wonder where their post-wedding, aka honeymoon, would be. It will be pretty tough to top the wedding, but hey, he isn’t a businessman for nothing.
But I am sure he will find a way. After all, he can just take any flight from Air Asia. #justsaying
