WhatsApp Could Be Releasing a Group Talk Feature

One of the world’s most famous messaging service is going to bring things to the next level.

In case you’ve not heard the news yet, WhatsApp is apparently in the talks of bringing out a “group voice call” feature so that more than two people can get together and well, talk at the same time.

If the rumours are true, the feature is going to be kind of like a conference call. The added plus? You’ll be able to chat with your buddies and family from all over the globe in one call, and it will cost you no more than the data charges.

Pretty much all that you guys will need is an Internet connection – period.

With unlimited data plans available now, I won’t be surprised if meetings are conducted through phones nowadays – even if everyone is in the same office #justsaying #bossyoureadingthis

The story came from WABetaInfo. According to the site, nothing much else can be said about the group talk feature as yet, since it is still being worked on within WhatsApp’s offices.

The moment WhatsApp has something that’s available to present, WABetaInfo will have the details and screenshots out.

OH, and in case you’re wondering what WABetaInfo’s all about, it’s a site that’s the expert in going through the beta test versions for the messaging service. So far, the things they’ve leaked are usually accurate.

This is how WABetaInfo also figures out on WhatsApp’s upcoming new features or updates.

So, based on the tests they’ve already seen ongoing, WABetaInfo’s noticed that there’s still a lot of development to do, and the software will only be available sometime next year.

Sigh. And here we were making big plans for calls during Halloween, Christmas and New Year leh.

And on top of that, WhatsApp’s most probably going to bring out its recall feature before the group call one.

If you ask us, the recall feature’s what we’d want faster.

Forgotten about the recall feature? Okay, I’m here to help.

This will be a face-saving feature which will let you retrieve or unsend texts after they’ve been sent out.

Perfect for the times when you’re drunk and you sent your ex texts at 2 in the morning which needs to be taken back, ASAP!

The unsend feature’s called “Delete for Everyone”, and pretty much as the title suggests, you’d be now able to call back messages after they’ve been sent out.

Even the wrong texts you send to your boss or wife. Don’t want to die at home or at work, right? Thank heavens that WhatsApp understands that we do make mistakes and we do need a recall button to save our asses.

I can’t wait for the group calls too. Imagine leh, during Lunar New Year can call all our relatives from overseas and have a virtual reunion dinner too.

Whatsapp, please release your features soon, ok?

If not, get the damn Delete for Everyone feature out before Christmas. That’s when all the drunk messages would be floating in WhatsApp’s servers.
