For some reason, every time a Channel 8 drama is produced, people will think that renowned actress Zoe Tay will be starring in it.
Maybe it’s just because she is simply quite famous in the Singapore acting industry and has always produced great acting results every time she is in front of the camera.
Recently, the Singapore-based actress took to the social media platform, Instagram to share with her fans and friends a video collage of her wedding back in 2001.
Trip Down Memory Lane
In the 11-and-a-half-minute Instagram video, the Mediacorp actress, also known as “Ah Jie”, which means Big Sister, to her colleagues, showed the wonderful memories that Tay and her husband shared during their wedding day.
In the caption, she said in Mandarin “I felt overwhelmed by my emotions after receiving this video today. Thank you everyone for your blessings and I will definitely cherish them.”
She further added how she could recall herself waking up at early at 3 am to prepare for the wedding day. Tay said that she first had to attend the church ceremony, followed by the traditional Chinese tea ceremony, then a trip back to her parent’s house for a meal and then finally to the hotel for her wedding dinner.
A Dinner to Remember
Tay’s wedding dinner was held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel and was attended by many familiar faces.
Many of the faces can be recognised by those who watched local TV dramas back in the early and late 2000s.
They include popular faces such as Sean Say, Caleb Goh, Zeng Hui fen, Tang Miao ling and Mavis Hee, most of whom have been out of the spotlight for a very, and we mean VERY long time.
One prominent actor seen in the video who has sadly departed from this life is Bai Yan, one of Tay’s many good friends.
Talking about prominent actors, many were surprised to see actress Fann Wong, who was then Tay’s direct rival, in the wedding video as well.
During the peak of their rivalry, many speculated that Tay was jealous of Fann and her uprising. However, the pair eventually reconciled and have been on good terms.
Actor Chen Han Wei can also be seen in the video. He could hardly be recognised due to his young and interesting look.
Thankful for the Memories
Ending of her caption, Tay mentions how grateful she is for such a memorable wedding and thanks everyone who was a part of it.
The post has since garnered over 145,000 views and 170 comments.
In the comments, actress Sharon Au said: “There were many beautiful memories created that day. Thank you for letting me be one of the bridesmaids on the most important day of your life.”
Netizens also flushed the comment section with words of envy, with some saying that she is one of the luckiest people in the world to be able to be joined by so many of her friends and family members.
