If you didn't watch Ip Man 4, the Wing Chun master played by Yen died—the film had wrapped up with Ip Man's student, Bruce Lee, attending Ip Man's funeral. So, if our main character is dead, how is there supposed to be an Ip Man 5? The fourth instalment was literally named Ip Man 4: The Finale—how is there supposed to be anything after the finale? One particular netizen suggested that perhaps Ip Man somehow got hold of the powerful infinity stones from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Another netizen, probably a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's multiverse of madness, suggested that perhaps a variant of Ip Man from another universe will step into the film series in the new instalment.
