A wise old man once said: "If you ever knock someone down on your PMD, it would be wise for you to own up. Because #SocialMedia" And that is just what this wise 13-year old youth did, according to a STOMP article posted on 29 December 2018. The Video You can watch the full video here. While not quite the incident itself, this 52 seconds long video showcases the aftermath of the alleged incident. In this video, an injured woman can be seen lying on a pavement while being attended to by a couple of girls. According to Stomp, a woman "believed to be in her 20s, suffered superficial injuries and was taken to Changi General Hospital." A youth holding onto a PMD can be seen surrounded by a couple of other people and one can be heard telling to youth, "I know it's an accident" and asking him to "calm down." When the youth lamented "I'm very sorry", a lady can be seen patting him on the shoulder and replying, "I understand, I understand." Another Day, Another PMD case You folks know what this sound is right? Yes, that which haunts you every morning pre-alarm, pre-snooze. Just a quick Google Search using "PMD accident news" yielded this result: Image: Google Search Little wonder why there has been so much discussion, furore and new regulations involving PMDs here and here. In fact, just yesterday (a Sunday no less), my workaholic colleague wrote "PMD Rider Tried a Stunt On Road, Fell & No One Came Forward To Help." In it, a PMD rider attempts a wheelie middle of a junction between West Coast Road and Clementi West Street 2 on 27 Dec at 8:40 p.m and crashes, ego-deflating-ly, onto the welcoming tarmac. This dude, unlike the 13-year old wise youth surrounded by comforting folks, is left to his own device(s) (haha) while attempting to dust of the aura of shame now emanating from him. Image: Roads.sg Foucaltian Panopticism and Guilt Admission Now now, that word above doesn't have anything to do with popcorn, nor do I want to take anything away from the 13-year old youth's admirable and wise confession. Although I'll admit; it's quite satisfying -popcorn-movie- watching these PMD dudes learn a lesson or two (applies only to cases where no one gets hurt duh, so this doesn't apply to the 13-year old youth case).
