You know it.
You must have at least heard of it, if you haven’t already been to its stores and heard its annoying catchy theme song engulfing you as you shop for Japanese goodies.
It’s Don Don Donki!

Whatever you want, whatever you need, you can find it there for sure. It is one of the reasons for its popularity, the other being the fact that Singaporeans love anything foreign because they hate anything from Singapore. Well hopefully they don’t hate Goody Feed.
The Japanese Penguin has spread the wonders of the store throughout Singapore. Don Don Donki currently has 4 (5 if you count Sweet Potato Factory at Changi Airport) branches in Singapore…
Wait, hold on. I have new news coming in.
Okay…
Oh, really?

New Store in The Central @ Clarke Quay
That’s right! If you’re a fellow penguin, rejoice!
This was posted by the Singapore Atrium Sale Facebook page, who always seem to be at the right place at the right time, yesterday afternoon.

The penguin colony is spreading in Singapore once again!
It appears that they are starting a new nest colony in the heart of Clarke Quay, at The Central, the shopping centre with a car park that’s not recommended for new drivers.
After the branch at Orchard Central, they probably have a thing for places with “Central” in its name. Now I know how to get one branch to open at Ang Mo Kio Hub. Rename it to Ang Mo Kio Central Hub.
For those who both frequent Clarke Quay often and love Japanese girls products, you are in luck!
While no details have yet surfaced on their official website or Facebook page, we can expect it to arrive soon.

Just treat this post as a movie trailer or sneak peek to get you hyped.
Maybe you can start jotting down a list of items you’re ready to purchase – meat, snacks, sushi, sake, condiments, detergents, hangers, Japanese schoolgirl bloomers, Sailor Moon products, sweet potatoes… what? No I’m not. You’re the otaku pervert. Shut up, read this shopping guide for Don Don Donki instead.
Spread of the Penguin Colony
With their previous main outlet at Novena Square 2 Mall opened only a month ago, this kicks their aggressive expansion up a notch.
In December 2017, the first outlet in Singapore was opened in Orchard Central, which still currently still is the only outlet opened 24/7.
They have since then expanded their colony to 100AM at Tanjong Pagar, City Square Mall, and the fresh nest at Novena.

It was also stated that there would be 10 outlets open in 2022, so that’s 5 more to within the next 3 years. Please open one at Ang Mo Kio.
While you wait for the new outlet to open, you can check out our post here for 10 facts of Don Don Donki that would get you running down to the nearest outlet immediately.
