The bubble tea trend truly knows no bounds.
It feels like every single week, somebody comes up with a new way to leverage off of our Asian love for boba.
Why is bubble tea so goddamn addictive?
Maybe this video will shed some light. (Also subscribe for more content like these)
But businesses care not why it’s addictive. All they know is that it is, and they can leverage it.
Free-flow bubble tea at Chinese hotpot restaurants, Taiwanese bubble milk tea mochi, and even big boys like McDonald’s hopped in on the trend.
And now? It’s Lipton’s turn.
Lipton TEA ICE
Need some iced boba to cool off in Singapore’s blazing heat? Or perhaps some ice cream instead?
Lipton’s heard your prayers, so you can now enjoy a bubble tea ice cream… in Japan.
But hey, look on the bright side, now you have more reason to fly over to the Land of Waifus, where women are always dressed in schoolgirl attire with knee-high socks and call you senpai or onii-chan.
Yeah, that’s definitely what Japan is like.
Jokes aside, the Japanese are really loving it.
Creamy Ice Cream With Chewy Pearls With Candy Coating
What an alliteration. I must really like words start with ‘C’.
With people spazzing on Instagram, you can bet it’s pretty good.
The ice cream has been reported to have a candy coating enveloping a creamy core supplemented with chewy tapioca pearls, guaranteeing a mouthful of sweetness and enjoyment as you sink in your mouth into this delectable delicacy.
Slurp slurp. Help, I can’t stop licking my mouth.
Hey, Lipton, you have a presence in Singapore too. We love bubble tea too.
Don’t forget us.
And our weather is much hotter. We need it more. WE NEED IT.
This is truly something foreign that all of us will approve of importing.
If you’re in Japan or have an upcoming trip there planned for any reason (*wink* waifu *wink), do try to grab one and let us know how it is!
