Snake Allegedly Lurking in AMK & Even Ate a Cat

Ever since last year, there has been a slew of odd animal sightings, from wild boars attacking people, bees buzzing randomly to pythons lepaking at places you wouldn’t imagine.

I am okay with the first two aforementioned animals but snakes can just rot in hell.

I mean, there is a reason why we sometimes call people a snake.

Most of the time, if you spot a snake (I am talking about the reptile), you either walk away or run the opposite direction screaming hysterically, but this time a python caused a woman to break out into tears.

But first, let me give you some context.

What happened

Yesterday, Facebook user Ceasar Salad, uploaded 3 videos of the snake in question which garnered 918 shares as of writing time.

According to Ceasar in an interview with Stomp, it happened at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1, betwixt Block 330 and 331 at about 8:30 P.M. on 23 Jan.

The video is of the python curling around what appears to be a dead cat.

And we all know how snake breaks its prey down—constriction.

So, why did the said woman cry?

Apparently, she was looking for a stray cat that she used to feed.

Caesar mentioned that he was doing push-ups when a lady came up to him asking if he had seen her cat.

Soon after, she came across the cat, in a bush near a fitness corner and a playground but it wasn’t purring or meowing, it was being strangled by the python.

“There’s a snake there! It’s my cat!’ she cried out.

One of the passer-bys alerted the pest control company and they came shortly after.

They were kind enough to wait for it to finish his dinner, but it is not confirmed whether they managed to catch the snake.

Netizens’ reactions

Some felt sad for the cat.

And there were some realists talking about the food cycle.

Thoughts

If you spot a snake, instead of freaking out, you can reach out to Acres wildfire-rescue hotline (9783 7782) or the AVA (1800-476-1600).
