As the saying goes, travelling is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.

But this group of Singaporeans who were on an exciting road trip in Thailand definitely came back with richer hearts and fuller bellies as they ended up gatecrashing a wedding reception by mistake.

Still, no harm was done as even though the Singaporeans realised their mistake, guests of the wedding continued to welcome them warmly and even insisted them to stay until they were finished with their meals.

Was Searching for Food During Road Trip

The five Singaporeans were on a motorcycle road trip when they passed what they thought was a restaurant in Chiang Mai during the afternoon on 30 March.

According to AsiaOne, the lively setting as well as the tables and chairs placed outside made them think it was an eatery.

That’s why they went in, waiting to order some food. Oops.

The Singaporeans were not able to communicate with the attendees at the reception too due to the language barrier. However, they still brought the Singaporeans to an empty table even though they showed up, well, uninvited.

It was when they tried to ask for a menu that the Singaporeans realised it was not a restaurant after all but a wedding celebration instead.

Left With More Than Just a Meal

Before you guys jump the gun and try to accuse these guys of taking advantage, the Singaporeans did attempt to leave after they realised their mistake.

But the attendees at the reception continued to treat them warmly and insisted that they stay until they were done with their meals. When they were done, the Singaporeans tried to pay the attendees but the lovely hosts refused.

As if their kindness wasn’t enough, the hosts of the party gave the Singaporeans a bag of crackers as snacks when they left to continue their road trip.

The group of Singaporeans had been on a motorcycle road trip in Bangkok and went there with the intentions to complete the Mae Hong Son Loop.
