Also known as the land of green tea (at least to me it does), Japan always seems to have the funkiest, coolest stuff on earth.
We’re talking everything Sakura at McDonald’s Japan, Baskin Robins first ever ice cream vending machine and more!
Matcha fans, this cup of drink will probably be right up your alley.
Japan Starbucks To Sell Hojicha Roasted Green Tea Frappe
Starbucks Japan has sold Hojicha lattes from time to time but this is the first time they’re offering Hojicha Roasted Green Tea Frappe.
And the internet is going crazy over it. At least in Japan, that is.
Hojicha is made by roasting green tea leaves before using them to make tea. Imagine your green tea, enhanced by that enticing, smoky fragrant of toasted green tea leaves.
Disclaimer: I was genuinely trying to make it sound delicious but I think I just screwed it up.
Okay, you have that image in your mind already?
Now add the goodness of Starbucks Frappuccino to the mix.
I’m talking about whipped cream, caramel syrup and all its sweetness to blend with the bitterness of Hojicha.
Starbucks Japan’s Hojicha Roasted Green Tea Frappe is made up of 5 different types of roasted green tea leaves.
They will begin selling it from 15 September.
For those who are travelling to Japan soon, make sure you don’t miss out on this hor!
And if you’re not, you can always try your luck and ask if your local Starbucks barista is able to make it for you. #PleaseBeOnTheSecretMenu
Even if they can’t, Starbucks Singapore might just take note of the huge number of requests and bring it in anyway.
One can always hope.
