Swensen’s has long been known for their sweet and delicious ice cream cakes.
But this Ramadan season, they are about to shake things up with a totally different dessert—“savoury” ice cream cake.
Nasi Lemak Ice Cream Cake
In light of the festive season, Swensen’s is introducing an all-new limited edition Nasi Lemak Ice Cream Cake.
Weird as it sounds, this dessert is no joke.
An ode to Singapore’s local culinary heritage, it features all the quintessential ingredients of the iconic dish such as the fried chicken, sunny side-up and sambal chilli, just not quite the way they usually taste.
This was revealed on 1 April, and of course people then thought it was a joke.
Spoilers alert: it isn’t.
The thick and crunchy-looking drumstick is in fact vanilla ice cream encased within feuilletine and crispy cornflakes. Take a bite and you would reach the chocolate “bone” in the centre.
The must-have egg and sambal chilli won’t taste the same as you remember because they are instead crafted from fondant.
Finally, the staple of the dish is represented by the coconut ice cream stacked on top of a rich Kueh Salat ice cream.
Truly a treat for both the eyes and the mouth, the 600g cake is priced at $50.28 and is perfect for yourself or as a gift.
Nasi Lemak Burger
But of course, nothing beats the actual savoury taste of Nasi Lemak which Swensen’s brings in their Nasi Lemak Burger.
Back by popular demand, the burger comprises everything from the local dish—fried chicken, cucumber, sunny side-up, peanuts, ikan bilis, sambal chilli—all in one bite.
Priced at $15.80, the burger comes with the staple sides of fries and coleslaw.

More New Main Dishes
More new items on the menu include King Prawn Pasta Goreng ($15.80) and the Ramadan Family Platter ($28.80).
The former combines Italian and Malay to create the perfect fusion dish, with Al dente linguine tossed in spicy sauce and a flame-seared King Prawn to top it off.
The Ramadan Family Platter is exactly what it sounds like—perfect for sharing.
Each platter comes with popcorn chicken, calamari, breaded fish, cheese sticks, wings, drumlets, and fries, all deep-fried to get that extra crunch.
And to elevate the taste further, the sharing dish has curry tartar and sambal chilli sauces for you to eat, dip and repeat.
New Desserts
Taking goreng pisang to the next level is Swensen’s Pisang Goreng Keju ($12.80).
The local delight is fried as per usual and baked. It is then topped with cheddar and either hazelnut spread or chocolate cold fudge. Yum.
Not forgetting the best part, you get to choose the flavour of Swensen’s ice cream for the final scoop on top.
If you love ondeh-ondeh, why not combine it with ice cream?
Swensen’s Ondeh Ondeh Ice Cream Cake is filled with a centre of Salted Gula Melaka ice cream and sprinkled with shredded coconut shavings.
The dessert is priced at $14.80 for a piece when you dine in and $29.80 for two pieces when you takeaway.
