It’s hard to understand youngsters’ mindset nowadays.
After a video of a boy being assaulted by three boys went viral, the Internet has forgotten about The Western Co. and now focused on what could have actually happened: why did the boys attack the poor boy? What happened after that? Do they know each other? Would the boys be punished? Why is such a thing happening in Singapore?

The New Paper managed to contact the boys, and it might not be as simple as a bullying case.
Apparently, the victim and the bullies are from different school, but know each other as they grew up playing basketball and soccer together. They, however, are from different gangs groups.
They had met up to settle some “issue” that is still unknown. During the talk, the victim had allegedly told the attacker that he could mobilize 20 people; and in response, the attacker called five friends to join him.
However, only two friends came to help the victim, essentially making it a 3 (victim’s side) vs 6 (attacker’s side).
While it seems like only four people were involved, it meant that the other five people were watching the drama unfold, with one of them taking the footage.
It’s unknown what they had talked about that escalated to an assault, but the attacker allegedly claimed that he lost his temper because the victim had kept on boasting about his larger gang group and had insulted his family members and him.
When the attack was over, the attacker even asked the victim if he was “okay”. And then, some of the attackers and their friends, less the guy in white jersey, took the lift together down to the ground level.
Not sure whether it’s as awkward as this.
