Members of the public have banded together once again to help those who were affected by the tragic Gambas Ave incident.
This includes helping with another fundraising attempt aimed to raise funds for the other rider that was affected by the incident.
What Happened
In an earlier account, the mother of the other rider who was seriously injured during the accident had shared that her son’s condition, Muhammad Alif, was dire.
When the road incident happened, Muhammad attempted to stand up and help the other rider despite his own injuries.
It was later revealed that Muhammad had suffered from a multitude of injuries.
His injuries include a crushed left pelvis, internal bleeding, broken ribs, broken right wrist, multiple lacerations, and torn lips.
He has since undergone three major surgeries and will undergo another ‘high-risk’ operation if his condition remains stable.
The family elaborated in their donation page on Give.asia that Muhammad’s medical costs would cost more than $60,000.
The cost will grow even more once he recovers enough to undergo six months of rehab.
Fundraising Goals Achieved in 19 Hours
Members of the public have since helped the family achieve their fundraising goal of $100,000.
Their donations have surpassed that target and over $200,000 were successfully raised to help Muhammad’s family with the medical expenses.

“Our family is still in shock to know there are so many generous people around,” said the family in an update on Give.asia.
“It may not be easy for (Muhammad Alif) as its (sic) a long road ahead till he recovers but please do keep him in your prayers.
“Only God can repay all your kindness. Once again on behalf of Alif and our whole family we humbly want to express our appreciation. Thank you so much.”
Dreamed Of Being Paramedic
In another update, Muhammad’s mother reveals that her injured son was close to fulfilling his dream to serve as a paramedic with the Singapore Civil Defence Force.
On Friday (15 April), Muhammad’s mother had received a government letter meant for her son to inform him that he had been selected to serve as a paramedic for his National Service (NS) this year.
Before the road incident, Muhammad had just celebrated his 20th birthday.
The 20-year-old had worked as a part-time nurse while waiting for his enlistment in NS.
