After a brief scare on 21 Sep (31 cases), you’re probably feeling assured when you heard that the number of cases reported yesterday (22 Sep) has fallen near to the “new norm”.

21 new Covid-19 cases were reported on the day Singapore turned into a sci-fi movie set, and there are no cases in the community.

Details Of The Cases

Imported Case: 1

The single imported case reported yesterday is a 23-year-old work permit holder who arrived in Singapore from India.

She has been placed on Stay-Home-Notice (SHN) upon arrival in Singapore on 10 Sep 2020, and was tested positive during her SHN.

Migrant Workers Staying In Dormitories: 20

Out of the 20 cases reported on migrant workers staying in dormitories, 6 of them are contacts of previously confirmed cases and were already placed on quarantine.

The remaining 14 cases were detected through MOH’s surveillance testing, such as the bi-weekly rostered routine testing.

This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 57,627 after one case was removed from the tally on Monday for being a false-positive case.

It was reported that 21 out of 21 cases reported yesterday are asymptomatic, which highlights the importance of wearing a mask when outside.

No new places were added to MOH’s list of places visited by infectious Covid-19 cases.

Now imagine if everyone decided that wearing a mask is a hassle, such as waiting for the food to arrive, and the Covid-19 case decides to chit chat and talk loudly while looking around without wearing a mask?

Overall Situation In S’pore

Yesterday also ended the streak of Singapore having more Covid-19 patients discharged versus new cases.

It broke even instead.

The number of unlinked cases in the community also remained stable at an average of fewer than 1 case per day over the past two weeks.

All in all, very good news, so as long as we don’t do something like this:

We’ll be looking at pretty good days ahead.
