2018 has seen a rise in road accidents, from a driver driving while on drugs to e-scooters on the roads, and not forgetting the abuse of Bluecars.
And now this deadly mania has spread to the neighbouring country.
On Jan 4, a year two student in Malacca was hit by a car and dragged under the vehicle for 15 metres, Stomp reported.
What happened
The terrible incident occurred within the school compound of Sekolah Kebangsaan Air Baruk on at about 6:50 A.M.
The victim, Mohammad Faris Zakwan Zainuddin was run down by a Proton Iswaran. The man behind the wheel was a 62-year-old general worker of the school.
He was driving towards the parking lot and had not realised that he hit the boy till he parked the car, according to New Straits Times.
According to the Jasin district police chief deputy superintendent Arshad Abu, a school teacher was in the vicinity and came to his rescue as he was groaning in pain.
As of writing time, he is currently in the hospital’s intensive care unit and the case is currently under investigation.

According to New Straits Times, the case is investigated under Section 43 (1)(a) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving.
Since there is isn’t any information on the driver, we will have to wait and see how this one unfolds.
