And unlike the CPF centre at Bishan, the HDB branch office will be closed “until further notice”.

HDB apologises for the inconvenience caused.

HDB Closes Bukit Merah Branch After Staff Tested Positive for COVID-19; Unknown When It’ll Reopen

On 2 Mar 2020, HDB announced that they’ll be closing their Bukit Merah Branch after their second employee tested positive for Covid-19.

The reason? Two of their employees have tested positive for Covid-19.

Citing customers’ health and safety, they have decided to close the branch “until further notice”.

It wasn’t revealed, however, how the two employees were infected.

HDB is now focused on assisting the Ministry of Health (MOH) with contact tracing.

The Blk 126 Fengshan PCF centre’s principal thought nothing of her symptoms and went on a course with some of her employees.

The consequences? She could be given disciplinary actions and has caused every PCF centre in Singapore to close for four days.

Singaporeans Must Be Socially Responsible

As of right now, Singapore has 1,000 Covid-19 cases and 4 deaths.

Because the Covid-19 virus has entered a new phase of transmission (community spread), the government can no longer do much about it.

Instead, it’s now up to individual Singaporeans to practise safe distancing, keep themselves home as much as possible and limit the spread of Covid-19.

As for whether we’ll pull through or not, experts say we’ll be able to know in the next two weeks.
