Anwar Has Just Made a $1.33 Pen Popular After Using It to During His Swear-In

For some of us, after reading that Naomi Neo’s son got to go for a fine dining experience at just 4 years old, we can’t help but be salty.

After all, we’re just normal people leading normal lives, nothing atas at all.

Well, what if I told you that we could be as flamboyant as Malaysia’s new prime minister?

Yes, that’s right, we could.

The best part? All for the low cost of $1.30.

No need to spend $78 on a bowl of noodles liao.

PM Anwar Uses $1.30 Pen for His Swearing-In Ceremony

You’d think that a significant event calls for significant paraphernalia, especially the prime minister’s swearing-in ceremony.

Well, Anwar has once again proved people wrong.

How?

He used a $1.30 Artline 210 pen to sign the official documents in his swearing-in ceremony.

On Friday (November 24), the world watched as Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim was sworn in as the new prime minister of Malaysia. The event marked the end of the impasse and political standstill in the nation as a new chapter began.

However, some viewers, either bored with the political processes or had eagle eyes, paid attention to the pen that the PM was using to sign the documents.

It wasn’t any fancy Parker or Mont Blanc pen, it was just a plain, old, regular writing pen, an Artline 210 Medium 0.6 Pen to be exact.

Netizens’ Response

Many commented on Facebook that they use the same pen as the PM.

Apparently, this pen is known for its uses in art.

After the news, many also claimed to want to buy the pen, asking for its source and its price.

It was later found out that the pen was sold out at various stores, and Artline’s stock saw a tiny increase.

Well done, Anwar.

Not the Pen’s First Public Appearance

A Facebook page named MyPenangCircles revealed that this same pen was used not only for Anwar’s swearing-in, but also for the ceremonies of the previous two PMs.

Clearly, it’s a favourite.

Anwar’s Swearing-in Ceremony

On Thursday (24 November 2022), Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Anwar Ibrahim was sworn in as Malaysia’s 10th prime minister, ending his 24-year-long wait for this position.

75-year-old Anwar was dressed in a black baju melayu with a gold sampin and wore an excited smile as he was called upon to take his oath of office and secrecy.

His first action as PM was to announce Monday (28 November) a public holiday.

Congrats.
