It is finally December, the perfect time to unwind after a year of hard work.

While many people are going overseas, some may prefer to stay in Singapore as there are just as many fun things to do without needing your passport.

If you have decided to stay in Singapore, here is a unique getaway idea you can experience with your loved ones: Glamping in the Clouds.

Have a Fun-Filled Avatar-themed Glampcation at Jewel Singapore (Glamping in the Clouds)

Normal staycations may be fun and cosy, but have you ever tried glamping?

The idea of glamping is simple; it is glamorous camping. Remember the days in school when we used to camp at East Coast Park, be it rain or shine, and having to sleep on the rough grass patches with rocks everywhere?

Now, you can bring back the nostalgia of camps in a comfortable setting.

Changi Airport currently has Glamping in the Clouds, where you can stay at Jewel Changi Airport, the home to the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, the Rain Vortex.

The First Look

This year’s Glamping in the Clouds theme is based on Avatar: The Way of Water, a sequel to a popular movie first released in 2009.

If you have no idea what that is, you probably have been living under a rock.

You can watch the trailer here:

The movie is about primitive creatures who look like humans and are highly evolved.

This is for you whether you are an Avatar fan or looking for a unique staycation experience.

Upon entering the tent, we were greeted by the beautiful marine decorations and the lights, which made us feel like we were in the World of Pandora.

Despite being in a tent setting, we still felt like we were in a five-star hotel. There were many in-tent facilities such as queen-sized air beds, an air-condition, a table, and charging extension cables.

The stay includes an Avatar tote bag, River Safari Tickets, and 10 Terminal 3 Underground Carnival Credits.

The main question you might be wondering is: where do I shower? They have you covered, as you can shower at Changi Lounge in a private shower room.

Changi Lounge is an exclusive area where atas people would wait in in-between their flights.

Do note that you have to book your shower slots in advance, and each tent is only entitled to 45 minutes of shower time regardless of the number of guests.

Other Activities to Do Around Changi

Don’t worry about feeling bored there, as there are tons of activities for you and your loved ones to participate in.

Firstly, you can head to the Terminal 3 Underground Carnival, where you can enjoy Uncle Ringo carnival activities.

The carnival has three parts: The Great World, The Modern World, and The Future World.

Christmas is about having fun, so there are rides such as the carousel, rocking chairs, and shooting games to test your aiming skills.

The Avatar shows are at 8.30 pm and 10.30 pm daily, and the Christmas shows are at 7.30 pm and 9.30 pm daily.

In addition, you can also watch the World Cup there for free on a big screen. There are several other places to watch the World Cup at Jewel too.

Of course, the best part would be the plethora of shopping and dining options you can pick from, including Tai Er, Shake Shack, and A&W.

Overall, the staycation experience was unique and something you will probably not find elsewhere. Despite the price being a little steep, we enjoyed the array of activities and the gorgeous view of the waterfalls.
